For some small workshops it is enough to submit a small abstract, in this case you are of course fine.
Usually it is necessary to have a paper file. Here it is the decision of the PCC, whether an extension is granted.
You can generally grant an extension, by switching to the next phase later.
Authors can be informed about this extension with sending the e-mail
[Office - Compose E-Mails - Mail to Authors - Paper submission phase nearly over].
Just add your custom text to this template.
By switching the phase to "Bidding and Paper Submission" [Office - Phases - Bidding and Paper Submission],
you can continue with bidding. Authors, who already submitted an abstract, can still submit their
paper file. This late submission will be possible for all authors.
An author can be informed about the rejection of his submission with [Office - Compose E-Mails - Mail to Authors - No paper submitted].
By switching the phase to "Bidding without Paper Submission" [Office - Phases - Bidding without Paper Submission],
you can continue with bidding and you block paper uploads from authors.
If you do not generelly want to extend the submission deadline because you do not want other authors to submit or exchange their paper file anymore,
you should directly switch to "Bidding without
Paper Submission" instead and ask the author to submit the paper file with e-mail. As PCC
you can still upload the paper file with [Contributions - List all - ...name of paper... - Upload new File].
Alternatively you can allow an individual author, to submit the paper file late.
Please go to [Contributions - List all - ...name of paper...] and switch
in the section "Paper" the value for "Content changeable by author" to always.
But be careful!
It is your responsibility to switch back this extra permission,
otherwise this author will be able to exchange his paper file all the time.
The previous option to upload the paperfile yourself is recommended.
